After much deliberation, we have decided to take the plunge and develop a new website.

Not an easy choice either, our old site contained over 12000 photographs, galleries, our product mix, videos and a whole host of client access areas. We had the association with our hosts for around 4 years, but the fact remained that the old site was still very limiting, especially in the important areas like SEO…. and there was nothing we could do about it. We had to seriously consider our web objectives, the focus of our photographic studio in Peterborough.

2017 therefore seemed an ideal time to invest some time (and cash) in putting our future ‘out there’. We also decided that we ought to get to grips with the basics of web development… quite a daunting task if you are new to that kind of thing.

On the other hand, photographers nowadays have to get to grips with high tech cameras, editing programmes like Photoshop, ICC profiling, networking (and I’m not talking of the people kind) FTP, servers, cloud….the list seems endless…. so what difference will one more item make?

We had already decided, many years ago, to lock down the domain names that could be relevant to us and our photographic studio. In our case it means we can still hold open the old domain until we are satisfied with the operation of this new site. That seems to have been a good decision so far.

This new website is in its very early stages…..but at least we have finally made a start.

Only time will tell if the effort will be worthwhile
